Pathfinders Receives Award

The National Association of Resource Conservation and Development Councils is proud to announce that Pathfinders RC&D has been awarded membership into the Circle of Diamonds program. 

In becoming a member of the Circle of Diamonds, Pathfinders RC&D Council has demonstrated its positive impact on the quality of life within its local area.  Like other Circle of Diamonds members, it strives to follow sound management principles and recognizes that its community accountability derives from its organizational structure, the processes it uses, and the outcomes it attains.

In earning the Circle of Diamonds membership, Pathfinders RC&D Council has shown its ability to maintain the specific benchmarks set forth in the program guidelines.  This mark of excellence shows its transparency, integrity, and strong commitment to the RC&D mission. --

This is a comprehensive training on how to get your business or point of interest plotted on Google Maps and how to create functional and user-friendly event maps.  Funded in part through Central Iowa Tourism Region.

NEW! Grant Received for Mormon Trail Development

Pathfinders recevied $86,000 in Statewide Transportation Enhancement grant funds to identify nationally significant historical resources on the Iowa Mormon Wagon Trails and Iowa Mormon Handcart Trail.  

The project will include a cultural and natural resource inventory and land acquisition study.   The project will also result in preservation and interpretive plans.  This project is being completed as part of  Iowa scenic byway development

While grants funds have been committed, Pathfinders is still securing necessary cash match. The project is expected to start in fall 2012.
