Total Forestry Program - FAQ'sWhat government programs are available for tree planting or Timber Stand Improvement?WHIP (Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program), REAP (Resource Conservation and Development) and CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) are the best programs to use. The forester will tell you how to take advantage of these cost-share programs. I had a logger stop by and ask to buy my trees. Is there a fee to have the Forestry Consultant come out and appraise my timber? It's always a good idea to get a forestry consultant involved when considering a timber sale. Landowners usually fare much better having their timber appraised and sent out for competitive bid instead of accepting what the "drive by logger" offer. For an initial appraisal, there is NO CHARGE by the Total Forestry Program. Why should I hire a consulting forester to sell my timber? We work for you to make sure you get the best price by using competitive sealed bids and the best experience with a detailed contract and monitoring of the operation. I would like to order a few fruit trees for my yard. Can I order those through Total Forestry Program?YES, we sell a wide variety of fruit trees I live in town and have a tree that I think might be sick. How much will it cost to have the Forester come look at it?There is an hourly change of $60/hour and we can send a sample to a lab to be sure what is wrong with your tree and make sure we do everything possible to save your tree. Contact the forestry consultant for further information on the Total Forestry Program.
